Sağlık ekonomisi, sağlık hizmetlerine ayrılan kaynakların etkin ve verimli kullanılmasını ve sağlık hizmetlerinin finansmanını içerir. Sağlık kaynaklarının etkin kullanımı ekonominin her alanında olduğu gibi son yıllarda önem kazanmıştır. Sağlık hizmetlerinin ekonomik analizi, sağlık ekonomisinin bir konusudur. Sağlık ekonomisi hem sağlık hizmetlerini hem de sağlık finansmanını tek bir yerde birleştirir. Sağlık hizmeti sağlayan kurumlar, tıbbi kurumlar olmalarının yanı sıra sosyal amaçlı ve ekonomik kuruluşlardır. Sağlık sistemleri ve ekonomik sistemler birbirinden bağımsız değildir. Pek çok yönden birbirleriyle ilişkilidirler. Ekonomik ve sosyal koşullar ve politikalar sağlık üzerinde oldukça fazla düzeyde önemli bir etkiye sahiptir. Sağlık ekonomisi kavramının ortaya çıkmasının en önemli nedeni; kaynaklara olan talebin, sağlık finansman yöntemlerinin ve sağlık harcamalarının artmasıdır. Ekonomik ve sosyal koşullar sağlık üzerinde büyük etkiye sahiptir. Sağlık hizmetlerinin nicelik ve kalitesinin iyileştirilmesi için harcamaların artırılması gerekmektedir. Özellikle sağlık hizmeti veren kurumların, tekrarlayan harcamalarını sağlamak için hangi kanallardan fon toplanacağı ve karşılanacağı önemli konulardır. Bu çalışmada sağlığın finansmanı ve sağlık ekonomisi gibi konular güncel litaratürden hareketle aktarılmaktadır.
Health economics includes the effective and efficient use of resources allocated to health services and the financing of health services. Effective use of health resources has gained importance in recent years, as in all areas of the economy. The economic analysis of health services is a subject of health economics. Health economics combines both health care and health finance in one place. Institutions that provide health services are not only medical institutions, but also social and economic institutions. Health systems and economic systems are not independent of each other. They are related to each other in many ways. Economic and social conditions and policies have a significant impact on health. The most important reason for the emergence of the concept of health economics; increase in the demand for resources, health financing methods and health expenditures. Economic and social conditions have a great impact on health. In order to improve the quantity and quality of health services, expenditures need to be increased. Especially important issues are the channels through which funds will be collected and met in order to ensure the recurrent expenditures of healthcare institutions. In this study, subjects such as health financing and health economics are conveyed based on the current literature.
